Background checks

When applying for a property, you can request a background check to help your application stand out. In 2Apply, you have the option to request either a premium or basic background check. These reports help verify a tenant’s rental and financial history before approving a rental application.

Premium background check

A premium background check includes a PDF version of the report, which will be emailed to you, visible within your profile and automatically attached to your future applications. The information you provide will be shared with Equifax to generate an NTD (National Tenancy Database) check.

Basic background check

A GreenID check is a simple digital verification of your identity. This option does not include a PDF or email version of the report, however a banner will be added to your account and submitted with all future applications.

How to request a background check

Login to your 2Apply account via 2Apply.com.au
Either in your profile or when you are completing an application, navigate to the section called Background Checks
Select either a Premium Check or a Basic Check
Provide the information exactly as it appears on your ID documents (any details entered in the background section will not update your rental application)
Accept the terms
Click Continue to Payment

Note: Background checks are only available in the following states: ACT, NT, QLD and only basic checks in SA

Background checks are OPTIONAL - you can submit your application without one.

Please note that once a report has been generated, we’re unable to process a refund if the data returned does not meet your expectations.
